The firemen were alerted shortly before 5pm on Sunday 16 October. As part of an organized hunting party near Turkey, a dog fell into a “very deep” hole and found itself trapped.

Rescue operations postponed until Monday

Very quickly, a crew of firefighters from Sombernon went to the scene to carry out a reconnaissance. Unfortunately, due to the depth of the depression, the impending arrival of night and the material needed to evacuate the animal, rescue operations will not be able to take place this Sunday evening.

The firefighters and the owner of the animal will meet at the scene on Monday morning at 8 o’clock to try to free the hunting dog.

Note that a similar accident had already happened in the city last year according to the city’s mayor, Dominique Fevret. At that time, the dog could get out ”alone” from the hole after intervention by a backhoe.
