A lawyer from Abitibi-Témiscamingue has just been appointed judge by the Minister of Justice, Simon Jolin Barrette.
Nathalie Samson was appointed judge in the Youth, Criminal, Penal and Civil Chambers in Amos.
She previously worked at the Abitibi-Témiscamingue Community Legal Center as Executive Director, a position she had held since 2018, replacing John Paquin.
At the time of her appointment, she held the position of lawyer at the Rouyn-Noranda legal aid office.
She began her career as a legal secretary in Ville-Marie, before studying law and then working for the Ville-Marie legal aid office.
She was admitted to the Bar in 2005.
