A stork devoured by a lioness at the Pairi Daiza zoo because of the storm

The Paizi Daiza animal park in Belgium has lost a stork due to the storm that has raged for the past three days. Due to a gust of wind, a tree fell on the rare bird’s aviary. The stork took the opportunity to make himself beautiful. But she did not choose the best place since she found herself in the territory of the lions and Kira, a female, offered herself a little extra.

“Our teams are affected by this loss. The death of an animal is always an injury” regrets on its Facebook page the park which specifies that about twenty animals had been sheltered in their enclosures in prevention of possible falls of trees, like the collared bears or the famous panda Tian Bao.

In the animal park of Pairi Daiza, the roof of the castle which shelters the aquarium flew away because of the violent winds. A dozen trees fell or threatened to do so.
