A top athlete braves all dangers to save a family of dogs trapped by floods (video)

When Canadian football player Brady Oliveira isn’t playing for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, he spends his time rescuing dogs in distress in his home province of Manitoba. At the beginning of May, the young man launched a delicate rescue operation during a flood.

Football is not the only passion of Brady Oliveira. The 24-year-old athlete loves animals and does not hesitate to help them when he is not on the field. Moreover, the Canadian lists some of his interventions on TikTok.

During the first week of May, Brady performed a remarkable new act. While the Manitoba, his home province, was plagued by floods, the top athlete reached out to a dog and her 2 puppies trapped in a house surrounded by water. ” It was one of the craziest rescues I’ve ever done “, declared the hero to our colleagues from Daily Paws.

The residents had fled without their pets. Despite the danger and warnings from local authorities, Brady flew to their rescue with the help of his sidekick, Shai Ross.

One of the craziest rescue missions that I’ve been on! I received an alert about a dog & her 2 pups being left on a property where the community was evacuating due to the severe flooding! Pups were locked in the bathroom for 24+ hours covered in their own urine & fecies. Mom was locked outside with nowhere to go! ???? Walking in the ice cold flood waters & getting hypothermia was one for the books! Welcome to the good life ???? #heartwearming #abandoneddogs #dogrescuer #dogrescuestory #savedogslives

The canine family is now safe

Full of determination and courage, the rescuers braved the cold and the humidity. Brady and Shai walked about 15 minutes in the freezing water, which reached their thighs in some places. When the duo reached their goal, they discovered a worried dog hanging around outside the abandoned home. Inside, 2 puppies had been locked in the bathroom with no food nearby.

The kind-hearted heroes picked up the entire little family and began a slow journey back to dry land. ” It’s treacherous because you don’t know what’s under the water “, has indicated Brady. After making a difficult walk with their precious “parcels”, the 2 men placed them in the back of a vehicle. Warm and safe, babies quickly fell asleep.
