An anonymous person donates 70,000 euros to a deficit shelter and thus saves 300 animals

Animal protection associations have colossal costs: food, maintenance and creation of infrastructure, care, interventions, etc. Only donations can enable them to meet their needs and thus carry out their mission. The Societat Protectora D’Animals De Catalunya shelter was faced with a considerable debt threatening the future of the centre. Until a good Samaritan came to her rescue.

The shelter Societat Protectora D’Animals De Catalunya (PSPC) is located at Torredembarra in the east ofSpain. It has welcomed and cared for more than 300 animals for 25 years: dogs, cats, birds as well as goats, horses and sheep.

At the end of 2021, the center was in financial deficit and the possibility of closing permanently because of these economic problems was considered.

the PSPC had indeed a debt of 120,000 euros corresponding to the entry fees for the sale of the land.

A fundraising campaign was therefore launched.

“We couldn’t believe it”

All the shelter volunteers were desperate. The idea of abandoning all their boarders broke their hearts. And yet, on November 21, 2021, they received the sum of 70,000 euros by check. Nobody knows to this day who is behind this good deed, because the person wishes to remain in the shadows.

“We thought we were dreaming! All our difficulties flew away as if by magic. The animals did not understand why we were jumping for joy”a spokesperson told Cats-Dogs.

The shelter was therefore able to pay off more than half of its debt and borrow the remaining amount. Some expenditure in favor of animal welfare has also been made: toys, cozy baskets, leashes and harnesses…

Residents therefore now benefit from a reception in the best possible conditions.
