From next season, the France 2 broadcast will no longer have tigers.
32 years after the first broadcast, where they were already present, the tigers of the France 2 broadcast Fort Boyard will disappear, reports 20 Minutes. A decision that comes as the debates to protect wild animals (circuses, zoos, etc.) are intensifying.
“I feel that there is a fundamental societal movement that we must hear about the protection of large animals and especially felines”, confirms producer Alexia Laroche-Joubert at 20 Minutes. The change will take place from the start of the 33and season of the show, airing starting this summer.
As a reminder, the tigers had the task of defending the hard-earned treasure of the candidates of the game, over the tests. Loot always donated to associations. The production is already thinking about compensating for this loss: “There are ways to bring this universe to life through the spirit of tigers, which is a very important aspect for our audience. We are experimenting with things, we are still in artistic reflection ” continues Alexia Laroche-Joubert.
