Green light from the government for the Mauritius Society for Animal Welfare (MSAW) to move forward with the “Catch-Neuter-Release”.
A long-awaited project, according to its president Didier Pursun. The latter maintains that this consists of capturing, sterilizing and releasing the animal.
In a statement to Radio Plus this Monday, May 16, Didier Pursun specifies that this is a strategy that will solve the problem of stray dogs in Mauritius. The subject was discussed during the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday May 13.
Thus, the benefits of the project would be the control of the stray dog population, the elimination of pack gatherings, the reduction in the number of aggressions and the reduction of illegal breeding.
