“Douglas” who is actually called Clovis, the Nice dog who votes in the LR primary makes the Internets laugh

The case does not lack bite. According to information from Liberation, confirmed by Nice-Matin, a dog voted in the LR primary in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Clovis by his nickname, a Shiba who often walks in the 1st district of Nice, took his card from Les Républicains, to choose the LR presidential candidate. It was his master who registered him and according to our information, he would have slipped an Eric Ciotti ballot into the ballot box. He claims to have registered his dog “to test, to see if it was feasible”.

Apparently yes, so it was doable. And from the publication of this story which has dog, Douglas (and Clovis his real name) have become small stars of the Internet.

The real Clovis already had his Instagram account. He posed there on Place Bellecour in Lyon, during his hikes in the hinterland of Nice, during his naps on the sofa, with his paws in the sand of the beaches of the Côte d’Azur… Unfortunately his account, which had more than 3,600 subscribers (still!), was no longer accessible after the publication of the Liberation survey.

It has not disappeared from the Internet. Two parody accounts, @DouglasPecresse and @clovisprecresse emerged in stride on Twitter.

In addition to these parody accounts, the LR dog within minutes became a meme and one of the most discussed topics on Twitter. The story even inspired the Nice designer Joann Sfar who split three drawings.
