Exposure. Les Chats de Geluk exhibit in Geneva

This Cat weighs 2 tons and has the lightness of a ballerina. And not only when he is disguised as “Tutu and Sylvester”, one of the twenty sculptures of the “Walking Cat”, visible from this Monday in Geneva. Thursday afternoon, while the sun was breaking through, the monumental bronzes were installed on Quai Wilson in a ballet of forklifts. And frankly, these cats taste like chicken-vegetable croquette, or so we imagine. The photos of Bordeaux and Caen, previous stages of the exhibition inaugurated in Paris last spring, were however everywhere. In fact, it’s even better.

We knew that Philippe Geluck’s creature was hiding behind his rocking physique to swing caustic valves and spiritual protrusions like a François Hollande on a couch, but we didn’t imagine him as gifted at defying weightlessness. As if it lacked a dimension in the flatness of the boxes of the comic strip which saw its birth… It finally unfolds along the changing Lake Geneva. Cap…
