Cholesterol, a dangerous disease!
Some diseases are more or less dangerous than others. Indeed, we can find different diseases that can cause different effects on the bodies of those affected.
Thus, we can in particular evoke cholesterol, which is a silent disease and which is often detected too late.
But it must be defined in three categories, which are total cholesterol, LDL (good) and HDL (bad). These different categories make it possible to offer rates which must vary according to age and person.
Thus, it is important to know that it is very difficult to be able to manage your rates on a daily basis. Each food or dish, or drink that we consume can have an impact on these.
But they also vary by sex. It must therefore be understood that women and men do not have the same level of cholesterol in the body, since it varies according to organisms and genetics.

The different cholesterol levels to respect
It is still important to be able to know the different cholesterol levels. These allow people to know their risks and situations that may seem difficult.
Thus, the latter vary according to age, gender and lifestyle. For this, a child must not have the same cholesterol level as an adult, or an elderly person.
Over time, a person’s body tends to produce more cholesterol, which means all adults should check their cholesterol levels regularly, ideally every 4 to 6 years or so.
Now, we will see the rates to have and their different interpretations:
- A total cholesterol level below 200 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) is considered desirable for adults. Conversely, a level between 200 and 239 mg/dL is borderline and a level of 240 mg/dL and above is considered high.
- The LDL cholesterol level must be below 100 mg/dL. Conversely, a level of 130 to 159 mg/dL is borderline and a level of 160 to 189 mg/dL is high. And a level of 190 mg/dL or more is considered very high.
- HDL cholesterol levels must remain high. A level between 41 mg/dL and 59 mg/dL is considered the lower limit. The optimal HDL level is 60 mg/dL or higher.
These rates are for adults who are in good health. But it also affects children, although they are less prone to developing this disease.
Rates for children
Regarding children, this is a little different, since they do not have the same morphology and not the same way of life:
- An acceptable total cholesterol level for a child is below 170 mg/dL. A borderline acceptable total cholesterol level for a child is between 170 and 199 mg/dL. If this is more, then the child is in danger.
- For LDL cholesterol, a borderline level is between 110 and 129 mg/dL, while a high level is above 130 mg/dL.
But maintaining its rate at a certain and safe value seems quite difficult. Indeed, this is an exercise to be performed on a daily basis and certain habits must be changed.
Thus, it is very important to eat healthy and not to abuse fatty foods. For this, you need to eat fruits and vegetables. But it is not limited to that.
Indeed, practicing physical activity and sports is also an excellent way to keep in shape. In addition, it also allows the body to eliminate the unpleasantness that may be there.
