France73 dogs stuffed into unspeakable conditions
In the Paris region, dozens of animals were rescued, recovered and entrusted to shelters.
Members of the Animal Assistance Foundation (FAA) intervened in the Paris region on Monday in what they described as a “house of horrors”. In this residence in Maisons-Alfort (Val-de-Marne) no less than 73 dogs were left to fend for themselves. They were in a deplorable condition.
The 65 dogs and 8 puppies were “without food, water, care, attention or consideration”, rejects the association. The smell was pestilential and “a sludge of excrement has completely taken over this house.”
The recovered dogs were in a catastrophic state, “hair matted and dripping with molasses mottled with piss and shit, eyes for some eaten away by conjunctivitis, ears clogged with scabs and eczema,” the FAA describes…
“Serious abuse and cruelty”
The operation was carried out with the help of the departmental directorate for the protection of the population and the police, tells “Le Parisien”. All the dogs were picked up and placed in different shelters in the Paris region. They are currently being “cleaned, fed, sedated, examined and cared for by veterinarians”, explains the Animal Aid Foundation.
The accommodation was occupied by a couple “of a certain age who were involved in the forced purchase of dogs on the Internet”, reports the French daily. Créteil’s prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into “serious abuse and cruelty”. The man also risks a fine because he has a professional authorization for breeding, but only for 14 dogs.
