Since the launch of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the two Google smartphones have had a series of setbacks. It must be said that both devices suffer from several bugs that can be annoying for their users. Among these, we note the brightness of the screen which is acting up, the fingerprint reader that is too unresponsive or problems with disconnecting Wi-Fi.

It is precisely on this last point that the firm intends to tackle during the next update of the Pixel 6. As reported by the Android Authority site, Google has indeed indicated, on Reddit, to have identified a problem connecting to Internet on smartphones:

Thanks for reporting this issue, we’re sorry you encountered it. After investigating, we identified the cause of the issue and determined that it only affects a very small number of devices. Of course, we realize this is an annoying experience and immediately developed a software fix that will be available in the next Pixel update, which is scheduled to roll out in March.

A Wi-Fi network to which you must manually reconnect

Concretely, the problem identified by Google consisted of a disconnection of the Wi-Fi network when the smartphone goes to sleep. More than a simple loss of the Wi-Fi network, it is even the smartphone’s Wi-Fi which turns off, prompting the user to reactivate it so that the Pixel 6 can again connect to the wireless network. “I have to manually enable Wi-Fi and then select the network, it does not connect automatically”indicates the person who spotted the problem on Reddit.

Little by little, Google is trying to improve the experience of its users on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Since the release of the two smartphones last October, Google has multiplied the updates – sometimes with delays – to do their best to correct the problems identified. However, there are still some notable concerns such as the capricious light sensor or the Bluetooth connection which can tend to act up.
