Google continues, year after year, to position itself in the travel sector. Witness the new services it is unveiling today. Free hotel booking links will now appear on the search results page and on Google Maps. And this, “in order to allow tourism players to extend their field of action and consumers to choose from a more complete set of options”, explains a press release.
These links are in addition to those already available and free on google.com/travel, an offer launched in 2021 by Google.
The search giant is also creating new reporting in Hotel Center, identifying the number of people who have clicked on the free booking links.
“Google will expand the reporting tool to include free booking link impressions and booking value in the coming weeks,” the statement added.
