the google wallet The name was retired when its functionality was combined with that of Android Pay, then rebranded as Google Pay. Since then, Google Pay is still a thing, but don’t confuse it with the GPay app on your phone. Strangely, these are still two separate things. If you thought this was a good example of that good old Googliness, you’d be right. Now, if you’re already familiar with Google’s names and payment services, prepare for another change, as there are reports that Google Wallet may be returning to your device soon.
According to Mishaal Rehman on Twitter, which posted information along with screenshots of the new user interface in action, a New Google Wallet is one of the latest Google Play Services, acting as a home for all your cards and digital subscriptions. For Google Pay, it will continue to be your home for contactless payments.
So, to put it plainly, Wallet will hold your Cards and Pay with the help you pay. Honestly, that almost makes too much sense. It’s very anti-Google.
The interface presented before deployment details exactly what we can expect. Wallet can house your frequent flyer numbers, AMC movie stubs, and loyalty cards. However, it does not appear to be a separate entity or application. It’s just a new user interface in the Google Pay experience.
Since we have screenshots and lots of information, we might see Google make this official before Google I/O, but we can’t be sure. Safe to say it’s coming soon.
