her husband Cédric hires a second lawyer

Five days after being indicted and imprisoned, Cedric Jubillar get a second lawyer. It’s about master Alexander Martin, from the Toulouse Bar. The chairman of the Albi bar, Maître Jean-Baptiste Alary, who has represented the craftsman from Cagnac-les-Mines since the start of the Jubillar affair, explains that he wanted a colleague as reinforcement “who will be able to make the link with the Seysses remand center“(near Toulouse: editor’s note) where Cédric Jubillar is imprisoned.

Jean-Baptiste Alary said to have receivedsolicitations of reputable lawyers on the national place” and to have “asked Alexandre Martin to come” because it is “a lawyer of rare competence, human, with whom trust is shared“.

Cédric Jubillar is indicted for aggravated murder of the person of Delphine Jubillar. The body of the nurse, mother of two children, has still not been found. The 30-year-old has been missing since the night of December 15 to 16, 2020.

Already a common affair

The two black robes masters Alary and Martin notably ensured together in 2016 the defense of a suspected husband of killing his wife by giving her insulin when she was not diabetic. The file had been requalified. From a lawsuit for “poisoning” (with intent to kill: editor’s note), the two lawyers had obtained a lawsuit for “administration of a substance harmful to health” causing death without the intention of giving it. The husband had received a three-month suspended prison sentence.

Maître Emmanuelle Franck will also work on the file

Cédric Jubillar will be represented by a total of three lawyers, since Emmanuelle Franckwho regularly forms a tandem with master Alexandre Martin, was also registered by the registry as a lawyer for the craftsman of Cagnac-les-Mines.

Lawyers appeal the detention of Cédric Jubillar

Master Martin’s first act was this Wednesday to appeal against the detention order for Cédric Jubillar. Alexandre Martin estimates the press conference of the public prosecutor last Friday properly “scandalous” and fully dependent. He deplores that Cédric Jubillar is treated as an ideal culprit: “This press conference is scandalous because the prosecutor has endeavored to present Jubillar as a culprit when he is there to restore the presumption of innocence (…) and not to pillory an individual“.

According to the Toulouse lawyer “the Public Prosecutor’s Office failed to comply with the legal and ethical rules by presenting Cédric Jubillar as the culprit“. As a result, Alexandre Martin appealed the detention order and “hopes in the coming days for a balanced and rights-respecting debate before the investigating chamber“.

The date of the hearing before the investigating chamber to discuss the request of the release of Cédric Jubillar is not yet fixed.
