Housing loan insurance: no more premiums for most disabled buyers

For mortgages of less than €200,000 per person, repaid before age 60, the medical questionnaire is removed. People previously considered at risk will therefore no longer pay the additional premium. It remains to be seen how insurers will compensate for the shortfall.

This is a small revolution for property candidates with disabilities. And no one saw it coming. Parliament has just adopted a bill which removes the medical questionnaire for half of mortgages. The National Assembly adopted it on Tuesday February 15; the Senate, Thursday 17.
