If you’re a Chrome user, this should be right up your alley. Google’s Chrome browser has been updated to version 100, an update that’s now rolling out to stable channels across Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS.
The biggest change is the arrival of a refreshed logo, which is a little more basic and without all the shading details of the 2014 logo.
This new release comes with some significant changes to the user agent string, as well as with the Multi-Monitor Window Placement API.
This API makes it possible to enumerate the screens connected to a user’s machine, and to place windows on specific screens.
But let’s get right into the hunt and show you what you came here for in the first place, which is how to see multiple Chrome windows on the same screen.
How can I view split screen windows in Google Chrome?
- Go to the Chrome Store and search for the Split Screen extension.
- Select Split-Screen for Google Chrome.
- Click the Add to Chrome button.
- Click Add extension.
- Press the Split-Screen button on your Chrome browser and select the desired split.
How do I resize tabs and access split screen for Chrome?
This extension is really Split Screen made easy. Use it to resize the current tab and tabs to the right in layouts on separate windows.
When you find it on the Chrome Store, you’ll also see that it supports multiple monitors, in case that’s something you were looking for as well.
- Go to the Chrome Store and search for the Split Screen extension.
- Select Resize Tab – Split Screen Layouts.
- Click the Add to Chrome button.
- Click Add extension.
- Click the expand button, choose the format you want, and split your screen.
NOTE
This extension will not resize in the same tab (multiple panes with a single URL bar). Other Chrome extensions with multiple panes in one tab have security limitations (i.e. you can’t see any https sites like Gmail or Facebook). With these types of extensions, you will also not be able to access any of your favorite extensions in the individual panes.
Tab Resize a none of the limitations listed above because it splits the tabs into separate windows.
That’s about all you need to know to successfully partition and divide your screen the way you’ve always wanted, allowing you to view and access multiple content at the same time.
