The parquet floor of Dijon (Côte-d’Or) indicted on Monday the owner of the two dogs of the staffordshire terrier type. The animals had seriously injured a retired couple in Argilly (Côte-d’Or) on Friday.

The 36-year-old man prosecuted for involuntary injuries with a temporary incapacity for work of more than three months is already known to justice. He had been sentenced for similar facts in October 2021, reports France 3 Bourgogne Franche-Comté. The handler of the dogs was placed under judicial control.

One of the two dogs was shot

The victims had been rushed to the Dijon University Hospital after being bitten by the mastiffs. The dogs had escaped the surveillance of their owner and had entered the couple’s garden to attack a hen.

One of the Staffordshire terriers had been shot by the gendarmes during the intervention following the attack. Found with its owner after a hunt, the other animal had been placed in isolation at the pound.
