Larry, the cat from 10 Downing Street, filmed scaring away a fox

British Prime Minister Liz Truss may be in the middle of political turmoil, but Larry continues to do his job as usual. The cat owner of 10 Downing Street, London, was recently filmed kicking a fox off his street, reports France news.

In a video shared on October 10 on the cat’s Twitter account, the Prime Minister’s roommate is seen chasing a skinny and frightened fox from the area around 10 Downing Street. The clip was filmed by CCTV cameras and was a big hit with the British. The footage has been viewed 5.9 million times and even aired on TV.

Foxes more visible than before in London

Larry has lived in 10 Downing Street since 2011. Arriving under David Cameron’s mandate, he has the official title of “chief mouser” of the house. The cat has seen Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss parade since September. Already seen in the middle of a fight with Palmerston, the cat from the nearby Foreign Office, Larry obviously doesn’t like foxes either.

The British capital has around 10,000 of these canines in its streets and parks. With the paving of streets and wastelands and better maintenance of green areas, foxes are becoming increasingly visible to residents, but pose absolutely no danger to humans.
