Saturday April 9, 2022 around 2:30 p.m., the TER from Saint-Nazaire hit a dog as it arrived at Pornichet station (Loire-Atlantique).
“A couple told us they heard a howl, I nothing, but it was probably covered by the noise of the train,” says a witness who, with another passerby, discovered the injured animal in the middle of the tracks.
The bloodied right flank
“We went to the station ticket office to stop train traffic, but there was no one there. The lady who was with me, warned the firefighters and being careful, she approached the dog which had a medal on which was mentioned the telephone number of its owner. She called him. The dog, a female dog in fact, had a bloody right side but she was not whining. »
The emergency services and the master arrived a few minutes later on the spot. Rail traffic was stopped for a few minutes during the intervention. The animal was bandaged and taken to a veterinarian on duty.
