A town in Lot-et-Garonne informed its constituents that cats had been targeted by rifle fire. A complaint was filed with the police.
The town hall of Laffite-sur-Lot has launched an alert message on social networks to inform citizens of a security problem concerning cats.
In this Lot-et-Garonne commune, cats were targeted by rifle fire. “We are alerting all feline owners that two pets have been shot,” writes the municipality.
One of the animals was seriously injured. He had to be amputated.
A precautionary message
The town hall alerted the inhabitants to take “the necessary precautions”. “Do not leave them unattended, avoid leaving them outside for too long”, we can read.
The owners of the cats have decided to file a complaint with the gendarmerie for “act of cruelty”. ARPA, Association for the Respect and Protection of Animals, chaired by Marie Dubos, has chosen to get involved in this fight and is taking “civil action” in this case.
