The lawyer, indicted in October 2021, did not appeal the decision of the regional disciplinary council for lawyers

Mand Pierre Sarfaty had until January 2, 2022 to appeal the decision of the regional disciplinary council for lawyers to remove the Saintais council from the list of lawyers. Pierre Sarfaty, 64, did not contest this decision. He is therefore struck off the bar of Saintes, quickly confirmed, last week, Mand Fanny Grévin, President of the Bar of Saintes since 1er January 2022.

This radiation occurs in parallel with the indictment of Pierre Sarfaty for abuse of corporate assets, fraud and money laundering. Its lawyer, Romain Nicolli, was also indicted on October 12, 2021, for concealment of misuse of corporate assets, fraud and money laundering. For both, the indictment is based on facts that allegedly took place between 1er January 2015 and May 5, 2021. At this stage of the investigation, the two men benefit from the presumption of innocence.

Pierre Sarfaty, who was sworn in in December 1984, is suspected of having embezzled Carpa funds (Autonomous Fund for Lawyers’ Financial Settlements) when he should have given the money to his clients. In front of his peers, he admitted having unduly kept 220,000 euros, between 2019 and 2020.
