Monkey pox: 125 cases confirmed in France this Tuesday, exclusively in men

All the cases placed under epidemiological surveillance are men, aged between 20 and 63 years (median age: 35 years).

On June 14, 125 cases of monkey pox were reported in France: 91 in Ile-de-France, 11 in Occitanie, 9 in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, 3 in Normandy, 3 in Hauts-de-France, 1 in Centre-val de Loire, 3 in Paca, 1 in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and 3 in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Out of 111 cases confirmed as of June 13, 2022, 108 have been the subject of epidemiological monitoring.

On June 9, France had 91 cases, so the virus continues to spread in France.

All the investigated cases are men, aged between 20 and 63 years (mean age: 35 years).

Symptom onset dates range between May 7, 2022 and June 9, 2022 (figure). Cases are diagnosed on average 7 days after the onset of signs.

Among the cases investigated, 77% presented a genito-anal rash, 76% an eruption on another part of the body, 68% a fever, 62% lymphadenopathy, 14% odynophagia, and 5% a cough. Among the cases investigated, 7 are immunocompromised; none died. symptoms ; therefore, data for the last week is not consolidated.
