What vaccine?

There is currently no specific vaccine to fight monkeypox. However, a few years ago, the population was massively vaccinated against smallpox.

Spain will use the vaccine”Imvanex“, made by a Danish laboratory called Bavarian Nordik. In particular, it would limit the Side effects monkeypox.

The idea would therefore be to reuse the vaccine against smallpox, which has been put aside for decades. But more than 40 years have passed since the apparent eradication of smallpox, which does not seem to make matters any easier.

As El País reports, this vaccine would, however, allow a over 80% protection.
