Nacer Bouhanni suffers a fracture of the first cervical vertebra after his fall in the Tour of Turkey

The verdict has fallen for Nacer Bouhanni. Victim of a big fall 61 kilometers from the finish during the second stage of the Tour of Turkey on Monday, the rider from Arkéa-Samsic suffered a fracture of the first cervical vertebra. His team said in a medical bulletin that he was “currently being treated at Izmir hospital” and that it would be “soon to be repatriated to France for further medical care”.

Arkéa-Samsic also gave news of its other riders who fell between Selçuk and Alaçati during the stage won by Australian Kaden Groves. Nairo Quintana is suffering like this “significant dermabrasions on the entire left side and on the back”while his brother Dayer also feels pain related to “various dermabrasions”. But the two Colombians will be at the start of the third stage on Tuesday.

As for Kevin Ledanois, involved in the fall of Bouhanni, he suffers “significant trauma to the left knee and pain in the thoracic spine” and will not take the start of the third leg.
