Notes: Real Madrid – Deportivo Alaves

By

Real Madrid took on Alavés at the Bernabéu today, in La Liga Matchday 25. Here are the notes attributed by our editorial staff to the people of Madrid.

Courteous: 6 – Unlike Tuesday, the Belgian had a relatively quiet evening tonight. The best chance for the visitors was caused by Asensio and without consequence, luckily.

Carvajal: 6 – He was necessarily more comfortable without Kylian Mbappé in the legs. The Madrid side was pretty good in activity but terribly clumsy in his crosses.

Military: 6.5 – He was already good in Paris, he was again tonight. He controlled the dangerous Joselu well.

Alaba: 6 – He negotiated his match well and was the first to worry Pacheco, with a free kick in the 49th minute of play. He was good at the restart, enough to help his team get out of Alavés’ pressing.

Mendy: 5 – Not in the game in the middle of the week, the Frenchman was not in great shape either this Saturday evening. He is still uninspired offensively and his crosses are imprecise.

Casemiro: 5.5 – It was better in the second half but the first 45 minutes were very laborious. In the 29th minute of play, he made a serious error which Alavés failed to take advantage of.

⭐️ Valverde: 7 – Carlo Ancelotti finally offers him some continuity and yes, the Uruguayan seized his chance today. Very impactful last weekend against Granada but hardly used against PSG, Fede was by far the best in the first period. The only one to bring movement and try his luck.

modric: 6.5 – He picked up speed as the game progressed and he had a good second game. It has greatly contributed to the fluidity of the Madrid game.

Asensio: 5 – A rather special performance. The content is very bad, he almost allowed Alavés to open the scoring and then it was he who finally unlocked the match for his team. Another great goal outside the box. He is also involved in the second goal with Benzema and Vinicius. It saves his game.

Vinicius: 5 – Terribly messy at the start of the game, he ended up finding the breaches little by little. Above all, he has found his way back to the nets and it will do him good.

Benzema: 5.5 – It’s much like his Brazilian teammate. We feel that he is lacking in rhythm but it is gradually coming back. He finished the match well with a goal, a post and an assist.

Ancelotti: 3 After the defeat in Paris, we expected a reaction from the team but nothing helped. The first period was terribly boring and Real again had to rely on an individual feat to find the fault. The Italian coach has not revolutionized or changed anything except to start Fede Valverde in place of Kroos. He waited until the end of the match and the second goal against the 19th in La Liga to deign to make changes … that is to say in the 82nd minute of play.
