After their short but precious victory acquired in the first leg on the lawn of the Orange Vélodrome (2-1), OM will unfortunately be deprived of many important elements in Greece in Thessaloniki for this quarter-final second leg of the Europa League Conference .
Indeed, Jorge Sampaoli will have to compose without Arkadiusz Milik (injured) but also Gerson, Boubacar Kamara and Bamba Dieng, all three suspended for this PAOK – OM match. And for this very important meeting in the history of the Marseille club, the Argentinian coach of Olympique de Marseille would have made three strong choices in his composition, according to information from our colleagues at RMC Sport.
First of all, Jorge Sampaoli maintained his confidence in Steve Mandanda in the Marseille goals. The French international goalkeeper had already been established in place of Pau Lopez, the usual number one in Ligue 1, during each of the Europa League Conference OM matches, against FK Qarabag then against FC Basel.
Then, Luan Peres would have been finally preferred to Sead Kolasinac to evolve on the left corridor of the defense, while Amine Harit, the man in form of the moment at Olympique de Marseille, should start alongside Dimitri Payet and Cengiz Ünder to ensure the offensive animation of the Olympian formation. Cédric Bakambu should therefore start this meeting on the bench.
Unsurprisingly, Pape Gueye will replace Boubacara Kamara as defensive midfielder, and Valentin Rongier will support the excellent Mattéo Guendouzi in midfield, following the absence of Brazilian international Gerson.
Here is Jorge Sampaoli’s probable line-up against PAOK: Steve Mandanda – Pol Lirola, William Saliba, Duje Caleta-Car, Luan Peres – Pape Gueye, Mattéo Guendouzi, Valentin Rongier – Amine Harit, Dimitri Payet, Cengiz Ünder.
