Sentenced to eight months in prison after the violent dog attack

A 47-year-old man was on Wednesday evening sentenced to eight months in prison, including six under an electronic bracelet, by the criminal court in Le Mans after a violent attack by dogs he owned. The facts happened on August 20 in the late afternoon in Noyen-sur-Sarthe, southwest of Le Mans. A 15-year-old girl was riding a scooter with a friend when three unleashed mastiffs pounced on her and bit her fifteen times.

A young man had tried to help him and had also been bitten several times in the leg. Covered in blood by the emergency services, seriously injured, the young girl had to undergo several operations

Rudeness during the hearing

According to witnesses, the owner of the dogs had been passive during the assault. At the court hearing on Wednesday, the defendant also displayed insolent behavior, which did not facilitate the leniency of the court, reports Western France.

The three American bully dogs, which had already bitten, were euthanized, France Bleu states.
