The French Institute of Directors has studied the specificities of the board of directors in the insurance sector. For the ACPR, this is an opportunity to reiterate once again its attachment to the separation of powers and to imagine the creation of a fifth key function under Solvency 2.

Deeply transformed by Solvency 2the governance of insurers plays a key role both – as for any company – in setting strategic guidelines and controlling its management, but also – and this is more specific – in monitoring risks.
