The Champions League final relocated to Wembley?

As tensions escalate between Russia and Ukraine in recent hours, UEFA may have to change the location of the next Champions League final, originally scheduled for May 28, at the Gazprom Arena in Saint Petersburg, according to the British press.

UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace told parliament on Monday that there was “strong reasons to fear that President Putin is still inclined to invade Ukraine”.

In the event of an invasion in Ukraine by Russian troops, the institution of European football will therefore have to find a new place to organize the C1 final. Wembley Stadium in London is said to be one of the possibilities being explored by UEFA, which is closely monitoring the Ukraine crisis, with a view to drawing up a contingency plan if necessary.
