Since leaving three months ago, Obi has traveled hundreds of miles. A cavalcade followed via social networks where reports are constantly posted on dedicated pages. From Monflanquin, Obi then joined Bournel, then Cancon, Villeneuve-sur-Lot, Castella, Colayrac, Agen, Nérac and Mézin until being spotted in the Landes, in Gabarret, this Friday April 8.
Mobilization via the Net
Throughout his journey, this dog that looks like a large brown poodle, mobilized many Lot-et-Garonne residents: “He has almost become a star on social networks”, remarks Marie Delong, surprised by the number of people who came forward to try to stop the runaway. Its owner no longer counts the return trips from the Dordogne to try to recover it: “Shortly after it ran away, we even led a search on Cancon where it had been reported many times, with around twenty people, in vain”, says Marie Delong.
In Agen, where he stayed for several days in March, between the Pin district and Floréal, Jean-Louis Fauchié came to walk the streets two nights in a row without success: “We had contacted a stray cat feeder who had spotted him coming to eat in the bowls. And we found out he slept in a lawn chair. Again, impossible to catch. It seems like every time he feels recognized, Obi goes back on the road. »
And more precisely on the RN 21 where he has been spotted many times, grazed by heavy goods vehicles: “He is a very intelligent, hypersensitive, but very fearful dog. We are beginning to despair of being able to recover it one day, ”laments Marie Delong.
