Tunisia – Was the shipwrecked freighter deliberately scuttled to collect an insurance premium?

The mystery begins to grow around the accident of the shipwreck of a freighter off Gabes. It is a ship owned by a Turkish-Libyan company, flying the flag of Equatorial Guinea, which was carrying no cargo, since the 750 tonnes of diesel represent the consumption of its engines.

And, finally, the contradictions between the navigation plan of the ship, with its points of departure and arrival and the route it took… All this leaves some doubt as to the real causes of the sinking, and has pushed certain observers to suspect that the freighter could have been scuttled voluntarily, to collect an insurance premium?
