The first time Julie used the animal communication, it was in 2018. Foster family, she takes in a kitten who must receive an enucleation of both eyes, a very heavy operation. In parallel with the convalescence, she chooses to call on an animal communicator.

Since then, whether on a personal basis or for the animals cared for by the association Nos Amis les Animaux, of which she is president, she often uses this practice and has even decided to train in it. “Thanks to that, we were able to understand certain behaviors than ask the animal how it felt”she tells us.

A perspective that is attracting more and more people. On social networks, testimonials from owners who have used animal communication have been multiplying for years. Between good experience, skeptical feedback, last resort or simple curiosity, news.fr wanted to know more about this practice.

Soul-to-soul communication

The principle of animal communication, also called intuitive communication or telepathic communicationis to establish a link to improve the relationship between the animal (regardless of age, gender, species) and humans, identify the cause of certain problems and transmit a message.

“It’s about getting soul to soul communication. Moreover, the word animal comes from the Latin animawhich means soul”, entrusts to news.fr Christiane Saarbach. She has been practicing animal communication since the 2000s, an almost obvious professional retraining because “ever since I was little, I have known that I have this gift of communicating with animals. »

Its role is to mediate between the owner (“the keeper”, she corrects) and the animal. “We can treat everything via animal communication,” says Christiane, who cites abuse, behavioral problems or eating disorders as examples.

In the case of abused animals taken in by Julie’s association, based in Clermont (Ariège), animal communication “allows you to learn about their life before, understand their behavior and work to improve their daily lives more effectively”, details the young woman.

There is nothing of a magical process. You have to let go of your mind, (re)put yourself on the same waves and stimulate this frequency to communicate.

Via a photo of the animal

When contacted by people wishing to start an animal communication session, Christiane begins by asking a photo of the animal. It does not matter, therefore, if the animal is not physically present – if it is located abroad or if it is deceased for example.

A recent photo, with the gaze if possible. We also ask for the name of the animal and that of its guardian(s), but that’s all.

Once the contact has been initiated, it is a real exchange which begins. “I give him messages from his keeper, I send him information. But the animal also “speaks to me”, I hear a voiceit’s as if I picked up the phone to answer him”, illustrates Christiane.

Depending on the seriousness of the situation, the communication lasts longer or shorter. The more questions and answers there are to consider, the longer mind-to-mind communication is going to take.

Last step, finally: call the owner back and relay the information to him. “He is the one who will give it meaning,” concludes the communicator.

Words, images, feelings

Communication can also take other forms. “Personally, I see pictures and words. But for others, it will be rather colors, feelings like pains or chills“, adds Julie.

These are physical and emotional sensations that we will translate as an intermediary. I use my five senses because that’s what governs our intuition, and I render with our words and our human vocabulary.

But it also happens that the animal refuses to communicate. “We always ask the animal if it accepts the communication and we specify the reasons for our request,” Julie tells us. “I never impose a communication”, adds Christiane, who has also faced refusals.

Sometimes, some tell us that they don’t want to or that we have to try again later. Personally, I have a clear “no” that appears when I ask.

Everything also depends on what our domestic companions have to communicate, explains Julie, as well as on their past “Some people want to tell us about pain, an unsuitable environment, a specific need. Others will just want to say that they enjoy particular moments, like sleeping on a certain blanket or walking in a certain place. »

When the message doesn’t get through…

It is in this perspective, precisely, that Shana wanted to use animal communication. She had never heard of it before hanging out on social media. “There were both positive and negative opinions, I wanted to test to get my idea »remembers the young woman next tonews.fr.

For Loki, her cat, she asked for example if he was happy with her, if he missed his old family, if he liked his mash or if he preferred a particular food… but also the reasons for his behavior.

I wanted to know why he was biting me, if I had done something about it or on the contrary if I was not doing something correctly. He was meowing continuously every night, even sometimes during the day, I wanted to ask him to stop.

But this experiment in animal communication turns out to be disappointing. “I think I made the mistake of telling him about his old family, so the communicator took out all the paraphernalia of abandonment,” she annoys. Inconsistency also on the food side: Loki would tell him that he only likes chicken, “but what he prefers is everything with shrimp. »

Today, my cat keeps biting me, all the time. When he wants, in fact. Same, he continues to meow constantly in the evening. So the message, if there was one, did not get through correctly! Either way, I won’t try again.

The behaviorist observes, the communicator translates

Be careful not to confuse behaviorism and animal communication. “The border is thin. It is two entrance doors to understand the animal“, recognizes Amandine, behaviorist based in Pas-de-Calais. But behaviorism is done within the framework of scientific knowledge and studies.

We know that a dog will have such and such a posture depending on whether he is afraid or happy. Our job is to say why he has this reaction and this behavior, but it’s not about emotion or feelings.

AmandaBehaviorist, head of the company Dog and Masters

“A behaviorist intervenes when there is an education problem, he can say what needs to be corrected and how to do it,” adds Christiane Saarbach. In both cases, “there is a work of interpretation”, also admits Amandine.

As a behaviorist, my goal is not to transmit but to listen and observe to better understand.

But beware, there is no claim to replace a veterinarian. “Animal communication can complement medical treatment, but if the animal has a health problem, you should consult a veterinarian,” she recalls.

Caution on interpretation

Pay attention also to do not fall into personal interpretation. “Scientifically, the fact of using only a photo to decipher an animal seems risky to me according to my training”, specifies the young woman, at the head of the company Dogs and Masters.

It’s like seeing a photo of a child in tears. We can think that he is sad, that he has hurt himself, that he is pretending… We will make a judgment without knowing the context. We can describe a photo but to understand a behavior, you have to be on the spot.

This risk of interpretation is, moreover, what Anaëlle criticizes. “Very Cartesian” in life but ready to spend lavishly on her hairball (osteopathy, naturotherapy, etc.), this nurse has nevertheless decided to use animal communication as a last resort to find Shrimp, her cat, who has been missing for a week.

According to the person contacted, Shrimp had only gone for a walk, to “see the country. “Anaëlle is not convinced, especially since the animal communicator “describes a character that absolutely does not correspond” to her cat. A few days later, the animal returns home in a sorry state.

“He was dirty, emaciated and he had a fracture at the base of the tail which could have cost him his life, as if he had escaped from somewhere”, she annoys withnews.fr. After this bad experience, there is no longer any question of trying animal communication again.

I have seen training on this practice flourish, but I do not quite understand how one can learn something like this. I thought it was more of a kind of intrinsic gift.

“Anyone can do animal communication”

Julie is one of those people who precisely wanted know behind the scenes, training to become an animal communicator in turn, after years of consultation. Today, she regularly practices communications for acquaintances as well as for strangers.

When Laura [la communicatrice animale avec qui elle a l’habitude de travailler, ndlr] told us that communicating was within everyone’s reach, I said to myself, why not me?

After her bad experience, Anaëlle recognizes that something has troubled her. Indeed, some time after Shrimp’s return, a neighbor asks her if she had found her four-legged friend and if she had been able to get him out of where he was without any problems.

Very surprised by all its details, Anaëlle wants to know more. It turns out that her neighbor communicated with her cat. A faculty that she inherits from her grandmother – “what her family confirmed to me” – and of which she dares not speak for fear of being laughed at.

She had a vision in the night, like a dream, she felt Shrimp’s emotions, his distress. It came to her without strength, maybe she was touched by the loss of my cat and it sparked this connection. But it confirms my idea: animal communication is a gift, it cannot be learned.

“Anyone can do animal communication”, insists for her part Christiane, who is also a trainer. “I have had students who didn’t even have animals at home! exclaims the communicator based in Bas-Rhin.

What are they looking for then? “Finding your values and reconnecting with yourself,” she smiles. Wasn’t it Jean de la Fontaine, moreover, who said he used animals to instruct men?
